The Ultimate Deal
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20
We've all looked to God at some point and said something to the effect of, "God, if you will just __________, then I will __________." In essence, we've tried to make a deal with God. We look at a situation or circumstance in our lives and think we could control it, if we could just get God to rubber stamp our plans. But God doesn't work that way. We don't make deals with God; God makes deals with us. And the reality is that He has already made the ultimate deal with us.
When God sent His Son to the earth to live righteously, die sacrificially for our sins and then rise bodily, He was offering us the ultimate deal. The great news is that we only have one thing to do; we need to accept God's terms for the deal. Have you accepted God's terms?
Thank God for dealing with you with love, forgiveness and the promise of eternal life.
Think of one area where you have tried to make deals with God - relationally, financially, professionally, or in any other area. Write yourself a contract, committing not to try and deal with God in that area anymore.
