The Teacher

Description

If we humble ourselves, He will be our teacher. God will show us how to parent each of our children in the correct way, if we ask Him.

Psalms 25: 9

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

So many times as a mom, I want to be a “good” mom, but I do not know how. Luckily for us, God tells us that if we humble ourselves He will be our teacher. God will show us how to parent each of our children in the correct way, if we ask Him. What does that look like in real life?

Reading the Bible: The Bible is full of practical advice on raising children and Godly principles. If you don’t know where to start, begin in Proverbs.

Mentor: Pray that God will bring a mentor in your life- an older woman, who is a few years ahead of you in the whole parenting world. A woman that walks after God and lives a life that is worth following.
Pray: Too many times we forget this one easy step, but it is crucial in our walk with the Lord. Prayer connects us to God in a way that nothing else can. In prayer, I have the opportunity to open up my heart, my world and to share it with God. God already knows what is going on in our worlds, but He is waiting for us to invite Him in.

Prayer:

Father, I want You to teach me Your ways. Today I humble myself before You and ask that You will make the scripture clear to me as I read it. God, give me a mentor and a friend- a woman that loves You and one that will guide me in my role as a mom. Father, I want to connect with You daily through prayer. Gently remind me when I forget to pray. Continue to pursue me. Even though I get caught up in the busyness of life, I want You to be involved in my life.
