The Same Ignorance

We are no different than the Israelites: enjoying the blessings of God one day and then complaining about life the next.

Psalm 78:12-17  He did miracles in the sight of their ancestors in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan. He divided the sea and led them through; he made the water stand up like a wall. He guided them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire all night. He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them water as abundant as the seas; he brought streams out of a rocky crag and made water flow down like rivers. But they continued to sin against him, rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High.

I have often read the accounts of the Israelites with great disdain at how ignorant they were; how they would see God working in their lives every day and yet continually turn from Him; deciding to sin time and time again. But then, of course, the Holy Spirit tweaks me and I realize that I am no different than the Israelites.

One day God has split a rock in my life and I am enjoying the cool water that pours from it, the next day I’m complaining about being wet.
