The Right Influences

But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us…I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding.”  Nehemiah 2:19-20

THINK

What did "they’" influence you to do that you would not have done if "they" hadn’t been around?

We all have people in our lives who influence us—positively and negatively. The question is, which group gets the bulk of our attention?

Nehemiah didn’t waste time on the wrong ‘they’. Instead, he stayed on the wall and remained positive about getting the work done that God had prepared for him.

As you go through today, don’t focus on the wrong "they"? Instead, spend your time with the right "they"and discover just where God can take you!

PRAY

Ask God to open your eyes to the right "they" in your life. And pray for the strength to turn away from the wrong "they" in order to stay on point for what God has in store for your life.

ACT

To determine who in your life is a good influence and who is a poor influence, think about the people in your life and ask yourself, What did "they" influence me to do that I would not have done if "they" hadn't been around?
