Job 2:9-10 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
Sometimes we love someone so much that what we want for them isn’t what is best for them. I like to think that Job’s wife didn’t want him to die out of spite, but to end the suffering she couldn’t stand to see. But Job wouldn’t accept the easy way out; he wouldn’t accept charging God for this terrible time in his life. Job instead, clung to God as the Provider of all things in this life; good and trouble; plenty and little; joy and sorrow.
