The Original Temptation

Description

How many times will we fall for Satan's lie? It's timeless, present from the beginning, and the temptation of every age.

How many times will we fall for Satan's lie? It's timeless, present from the beginning, and the temptation of every age. It's about choosing to live independently of God, making ourselves, our wants, needs, and plans, the purpose for which we live. It's subtle, yet insidious. This is why practicing spiritual habits that nurture an intimate relationship with God is so important. Guard your heart, guard your mind. Where are you tempted to live and lead in your own strength?

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”—Genesis 3:1

Prayer: God, creator and designer of the universe, I humble myself before You. Strengthen my mind with Your truth, fill my heart and soul to overflowing with the reality of Your love. Expose the enemy's temptation for the lie it is. I pray in Jesus' name, amen.
