The ONLY Way?
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"—Jesus (John 14:6).
Do you ever feel afraid, guilty, or just plain mean when you think about telling your friends that Jesus is the only way to God? (I know I tend to keep my mouth shut because it's just not viewed as "okay" to claim this in our world today.) But...is it true? Is Jesus really who He says He is? ‘Cause if He is, then He really is our only hope!
Over and over, while on this earth, Jesus preached Himself. He claimed to be God, and nothing less! "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30). So was He telling the truth or lying? "If Jesus is not God," J. Oswald Sanders says in The Incomparable Christ, "then He is a blasphemer in the fullest sense of the word. If He is not God, He is not even good" (p. 95). The next time you or someone else you know says, "I don't believe Jesus is God, but I do believe He was a good person," remember this: He is either God, a deceiver, or a self-deceived man.
So who do you believe Jesus is? And if you believe He's God, are you giving Him His rightful place as Lord of your life? Who has the authority and "say" in your life—you or Him?
