The Lord's Purpose Prevails

Description

While we often make plans, it is the Lord’s purpose that ultimately prevails. Here are three steps that you can take to identify God's purpose for your life.

"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails" Proverbs 19:21

THINK

Most of us have heard the saying, “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.” And yes, this does hold some degree of legitimacy; however, the biblical truth is that while we make plans, it is the Lord’s purpose that ultimately prevails. But how do we discover the Lord’s purpose for our lives? This week, we discussed three steps that we should all take in identifying God’s purpose for our lives.

First, SEEK GOD. It is so easy to become distracted, but we must seek God first, both personally and collectively through the local church. Next, we must SERVE OTHERS. Jesus came to serve and not be served; therefore, we must model His example. And finally, we must SHARE OUR FAITH. Inevitably, we will interact with people who do not think and/or believe the same things as us; however, this may be an opportunity to share your faith and spread the good news of Jesus Christ!

PRAY

Pray that as you seek God first, serve others and share you faith, God will reveal the purpose He has for your life.

ACT

One of the benefits of finding your purpose is having the opportunity to help others throughout their journey. This week, think of someone you know who may have the question  “what is my purpose” and invite them to church with you this weekend!
