The Lion Will Roar

Jesus is coming in power when He returns.

Amos 3:8 (NIV®)

The lion has roared—who will not fear? The Sovereign LORD has spoken—who can but prophesy?

Jesus is identified in Scripture as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. When we meet Him in the New Testament, He comes as a servant. We typically think of Jesus as a rather passive, soft-spoken gentleman who gathered in the corner with a few friends and shared with them pearls of wisdom and Kingdom instruction—until He was executed by the Romans. But the prophet Amos says, “The lion is going to roar.” Jesus is coming back, and this time as a roaring lion.

Heavenly Father, how I long for Your return! I choose You as Lord and King every day of my life as I await that day. Help me to live as if I will see You today, face to face. Thank You for the promise of eternity in Your glorious presence. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.
