The Life You're Meant to Live
Description
As you read the words of 1 Corinthians 2:9, you may find them familiar:
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. (NLT)
This verse paints a picture of an unimaginable and extraordinary existence, one far beyond what any mere mortal has known or experienced. You may have heard these words before and related them only to heaven’s glory.
But in actuality they were penned for the here and now!
The apostle Paul, who lived during the church’s inception, was divinely moved to bring into the open what had previously been hidden to our eyes, ears, and imagination.
Here’s how he described it:
Through followers of Jesus like yourselves gathered in churches, [the] extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even among the angels! Ephesians 3:10 The Message
You may have wished for something more than average in life, but there’s One Person above all others who desires the extraordinary for you. He is a Father who delights in the achievements and happiness of His children. This is our God. Nothing will please Him more than seeing you reach your highest potential.
You may ask, “But doesn’t the fall of Adam change this?”
No, Jesus flipped the mess Adam created for humankind. Paul wrote, “Here it is in a nutshell: Just as one person did it wrong and got us in all this trouble with sin and death, another person did it right and got us out of it. But more than just getting us out of trouble, he got us into life!” (Romans 5:18 The Message)
The word life doesn’t merely describe the way we’ll live in heaven; it applies to our reality on the earth, too. Jesus not only recovered what Adam lost, but He also provided so much more—the potential of an extraordinary life!
Is this the kind of life you foresee for yourself? If not, are you willing to allow God to replace your expectations with His extraordinary plan? As you spend time in prayer, I pray that God will reveal His desire and as He quickens yours. Together, let’s give the angels something to talk about!
