The Keys to True Satisfaction

Living out God’s plan is the key to satisfaction. But what are the keys to living out that plan?

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” Matthew 22:36-39.

Over the past few days, we’ve discovered that living out God’s plan is the key to satisfaction. But what are the keys to living out that plan? In these four verses, Jesus hands us those keys: love God and love others.

If you are on a pursuit of happiness; if you are searching for satisfaction, your answer is found in these verses. As you go through life, look first to love God in all you do. Then, look to love others. Because as you do, you will discover not only the power of God’s plan in your life; you’ll also discover the keys to true, lasting satisfaction.

Ask God to give you the strength and courage to love Him above all others and in all situations. Then, ask Him to give you opportunity to show that love to those around you in tangible, influential ways.

As you look to your life, ask yourself if your words, thoughts, and actions reflect love for God and love for others. If not, what can you do to change them to be a better reflection of that love?
