The Humble and the Holy

Description

In God's design, He changes the condition of the people He interacts with. He changed Mary from a humble servant girl to the mother of God.

Luke 1:46-49 And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name.

Mary had recently learned that she was going to give birth to the Messiah, the long awaited savior of Israel and she expressed her feelings in this “song” in Luke chapter 1. She saw herself as she was; a young girl, nothing to speak of from a worldly point of view. And she saw God as He was; Almighty God who has done great things.

The feelings she expresses are found when the two, she and God, intersect. The humble and the Holy; the servant and the Mighty; with God’s presence, in His design, He changes the condition of the people He interacts with.

He changed Mary from a humble servant girl to the mother of God. While the change in us may not compare to Mary’s, an interaction with God changes those who are humble, those who have an ear to hear, those who are willing. How has God changed you?
