The Holy Spirit Speaks to Us
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 – 17
At a meeting at which I was speaking, after I’d finished my message, a woman came up to me, and the expression on her face was far from friendly. She said, very accusingly, “Who’s been telling you about me?”
I didn’t know the woman, so I said, “No one.”
“Then how did you know about …” and she proceeded to share a very sensitive issue in her life that I’d addressed in my message.
I said to her, “That was the Holy Spirit speaking to you. I know nothing of what you’re going through — but He does!”
In John 14:17, Jesus said, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Paul told Timothy “all Scripture is God-breathed,” referring to the Spirit-inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
God the Holy Spirit speaks to us personally and relevantly and specifically through His Word. What has He been saying to you? Whatever it is, it’s the truth!
