The Front of the Line
Matthew 19:28-30 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
One of the greatest sensations of my life is when I’m in a long line at the store, they open up another checkout line, and they say, “I can help you sir.” Moments like that are like winning the lottery because I was last (or nearly last), and just like that I became first.
So if it feels that good to us to get moved up in a checkout line imagine how good it will feel when we come before God. We come to Him and confess, “I wasn’t the best husband, I wasn’t the best father, I wasn’t the best person,” and He takes us and puts us in the front of the line because of Jesus Christ.
God changes the condition of people He interacts with.
