The Foundation of Our Faith
Description
Philippians 1:20-21 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Here is the keystone scripture, the foundation upon which the Christian life is based. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Each day that we are given in this world is to show the love of Christ to those around us. Each day that we have 24 hours to use is to deny ourselves; to put other’s needs ahead of our own. Each day that we live is to grow in the knowledge of His love and the action that it prompts. To live is Christ.
And to die, well, to die is to no longer want for the ever warming touch of His arm around your shoulder. To die is to know the gentleness of His hand as He wipes away your tears. To die is to never again feel the pain of loss, or disappointment, or failure.
To live is Christ and to die is gain.
