The Field and Building
Description
"For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building." 1 Corinthians 3:9, NIV
God has a purpose for your life! He is using you in His master plan!
When a farmer plants a field, that becomes his focus until the harvest. He carefully oversees its growth because its product is his livelihood. That is how he makes his living.
When an architect or developer builds a building, everything from the site work to the finish trades is under careful observation. She (see I used the female persuasion this time) is responsible for a successful end product for the project’s owner. She is paid to complete a sound building.
Paul uses these two examples to illustrate how God uses Christians in His Kingdom’s work. You and I are an integral part of what God is doing in the world today. Just as every drop of rain is useful to the farmer, and every kind of material in necessary to the builder, so are you and I, each one of us, needed in completing God’s ultimate will. He has a place reserved just for you and me!
Knowing that to be true; that you are God’s field, and that you are God’s building; my question to you is very simple: Are you fulfilling your part? Are you being used for the purposes God intended for you?
I’m praying that you are!
