The Fear of Change
He changes times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them.
Our world is always changing—some personalities can roll with these changes without blinking an eye, but others struggle with change and resist it. You, as a mom, may not mind change, but your child may have a hard time with change. Whether you accept change or you fight it, we all need to remember and realize that God is in control. It is up to God and His decision as to what He will change and what will remain the same. Our trust is in God, not our circumstances.
The sooner we realize that God is in control, the better we will be prepared to walk our children through uncertain times. We, as Christians, do not need to place our trust in our circumstances, but need to learn to place all of our trust in God. A mom can teach her child that even though their world is changing, God never changes. God will be with them during a move, during the transition of changing schools, or during the loss of Daddy's job. God will prepare the path before the journey begins. Teach your child from a young age to look to God for protection, guidance, and for safety. God is the one and only thing that will NEVER change.
Father, I pray that I will not cling so tightly to this world and the things of this world that make me comfortable. God, teach me how to abandon myself to You completely. Lord, help me teach my child to trust in You, and not on ever changing circumstances. Thank You for the security and peace we have in You.
