The Fairness of God
God is ridiculously fair. Not only did he send the divine Son to become one of us, not only did Christ die for us, but after his resurrection he had him become a mediator between himself and humanity.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, a man Christ Jesus. (1Tim 2:3-5)
In 1 Timothy we are told to pray for every kind of person, both rulers and ruled. Further, we are told God desires all men to be saved or every kind of person. Then, verse illustrated Paul's point. Christ, the Son of God, had the experience of human life and he continued in the human state as a mediator between God and humanity. The word mediator in Greek literally means the "man in the middle". That is, who Christ is, a man representing the interests of humanity. What is even more wonderful as a man he does not have the character of Adam (which would make him undependable), he has the gracious character of God. A mediator so incredibly fair is breathtaking: a mediator who died for us, suffered with us, and lives to love us.
