The Divine Son - The Last Adam
Description
We can be grateful that Christ is the last Adam. He is not the second or the third or the fourth Adam, but the last. That is wonderful. Why is Christ the last Adam? The first Adam determined the entire destiny of the human race. In his fall, we all fell. The last Adam also determines totally the destiny of all who trust in him. The great difference between the two is that the first Adam was entirely restricted to this Earth, but the last Adam opens up the door of heaven to all who trust him.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit (1 Cor 15:42-45).
Because of the last Adam, and our being in Him and our faith in Him, we will all participate in the resurrection life of Jesus Christ, in his glory and in his reign.
