The Divine Son - Christ Is Our Future

Christ is many things to the believer. He has also become our future.

Christ is many things to the believer. He is the Redeemer, the reconciler, and the propitiator. He has also become our future. Our future is determined by him. Our home city is heaven, and the king of heaven will come to the Earth to bring us back home.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself (Phil 3:20-21).

Already we are citizens of heaven, citizens of the city we have never seen, beloved of this Savior we have never touched, and daughters and sons of a Father we have never met. But we will be taken to that city. In a preparation to live within the city of heaven, our bodies have to be changed to be like Christ’s. This is something that we should be eager about, not only because it deals with the weakness and sickness of this Earth, but also because it prepares us for the city of our new birth.
