The Cleanse

Seek the company of people who have some of the same goals and ideas that you have. This makes taking the first steps easy.

Have you ever found yourself saying, “I’ll think about it” and still found yourself thinking about it months later?

Recently, my husband asked me to do a 21-day cleanse with him. You know, 21 days is a really long time to eat like a rabbit. So I gave him a safe answer, “I’ll think about it.” Honestly, that’s all I would have done had he not asked me 217 more times.

Art’s persistence and commitment inspired me, and eventually, reluctantly I said YES. I learned that being around people who are doing what you are “thinking about” makes the first steps less scary.

I did make it through the cleanse, but I can honestly say I wish Diet Coke was a whole food and kale tasted and smelled like popcorn. Really, I do!
