The Best Agenda
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV®)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
When I began my Christian journey what I really wanted was the power of God to get my will done on the earth. I had my own plans and my own agenda. I thought Christianity was a pretty good deal: I got the help of an Almighty God to help me get my way. But along the way I’ve come to understand that’s not the goal because there often is a difference in my agenda and God’s agenda. His purposes for us are always the best—guaranteed—and we should trust Him and pursue them with everything we have.
Heavenly Father, I come before You acknowledging that my understanding is not the same as Yours. I am grateful that You have not left us to wander through life alone but have given us Your Word and the Holy Spirit for guidance. I trust You to make my paths straight so that I may fulfill the purposes You have for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
