The Airwaves in Your Mind

Every one of us was created for fellowship with God. That’s why he made us in his image with the ability to think, feel, envision, dream, desire, and communicate—for purely relational purposes.

But relationships take time, and we have plenty of ways of filling our hearts and minds with other things. We are constantly streaming audio or video in our minds about plans, goals, stresses, fears, burdens, circumstances, and conversations that we may or may not ever have. There’s very little room for our primary purpose in life—to fellowship with God.

That raises some sobering questions: Is God getting from you the fellowship he created you for? What is taking up the airwaves of your mind? More importantly, what do you think would happen if you simply abandoned much of that programming and replaced it with interaction with him? If knowing and relating to him is our primary purpose, then this is much more likely to fulfill us than anything else we focus on.

Whatever it takes, give him what he designed you for. Give him prime time in the airwaves of your mind. Give him plenty of room to live and move within you.
