Tension Points
Description
Ephesians 1:17 (NIV®)
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
When I was a young Christian, I thought there must be some mysterious point when you just knew how to live a Christian life. I knew I didn’t know how to do it, but I looked at older people and they seemed to have it all together. “There’s no tension in them,” I thought. I was wrong. Even today, every time I walk up to those God-choices, I find that tension still persists. That’s because every one of those is a growth point, a learning point, an experience point. I walk away from them with a better understanding of God and better equipped for the next opportunity. But I’d be untruthful if I said living the Christian life is not the same daily challenge for me as it is for any Jesus-follower. Like Paul, let’s “keep asking” for “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,” so that we will know God better and make choices that honor Him.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I want to make choices that You approve of. I want to honor You with my life. Give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know You better. And I will give You praise for the victories in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
