Teach Your Children

Description

The investment in your children’s spiritual good is an investment for eternity. So even if Bible reading and prayer are not on their list of priorities, put it at the top of yours!

Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” LUKE 18:16

The Bible says we’re to teach our children God’s Word. Deuteronomy 11:19 says, “Teach them … when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

When my children were young, it was a challenge morning after morning to get their attention for daily Bible reading and prayer. It just wasn’t at the top of their to-do list! I took them to Sunday school and church. I read Bible stories to them and tried to explain the simplest truths of God’s Word. My effort was rewarded when each of my children later responded by claiming Jesus personally as their Savior.

Praise God! The investment in your children’s spiritual good is an investment for eternity. So even if Bible reading and prayer are not on their list of priorities, put it at the top of yours!
