Take Courage ... God Is with You!
If you’re like most people, when a trial arises, you don’t enthusiastically jump up and down, saying, “YES!! One more thing to worry about!”
No! On the contrary, trials give rise to suffering, grief, and sorrow …
But the Bible also encourages us to see trials in another light...
Let’s read 1 Peter 1:7 together: “These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
Trials are there to reveal the great value and worth of your faith!
So, God isn’t allowing this or that trial to punish you or to teach you “a life lesson.” No ... God is good, and He is love. His kindness toward you has no end.
But He also knows that your faith doesn’t grow when everything’s always going well.
Your faith sharpens, takes root, and assumes greater value when it’s put to the test. In other words, when you’re hit with a difficulty, worry, or hard blow, you’re pressed to count on God, to hold fast to His promises, and to fervently wait for Him to move in your life. And so your gaze turns toward Him, and your faith grows, making you stronger.
If you’re currently going through a trial, take courage. God is with you. You are going to see Him move in response to your faith!
