Take a Risk
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. HABAKKUK 3:19
In 2 Timothy 1:7, God reminds us He has not given us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power. Living a life of faith requires taking risks — at least from our perspective — because we can’t physically see what’s ahead, or hear what God is saying, or know what He’s thinking.
Frankly, the older I get, the less I want to take risks. I find myself holding the railing as I walk down stairs. I look both ways before driving through an intersection. In fact, I look twice!
Being cautious in everyday life can help you avoid accidents. But a cautious attitude in your spiritual life can paralyze your faith. It can cause you to procrastinate until obedience becomes a burden. Or worse, it can lead to disobedience.
So … take a risk of faith. Step out of your comfort zone. When God calls, it will be the surest, safest step you can take!
