Strong Champion

In the Philippines, Rob shares his story to educate others and to raise awareness about AIDS prevention.

Three years ago, Rob was close to dying after suffering numerous health complications. After a complete health check-up, he was eventually diagnosed with HIV.

After working his way back to health and hope, Rob joined a World Vision Channels of Hope for HIV/AIDS program and learned how to be an HIV awareness advocate.

AIDS-related deaths have declined by 45 percent since the peak in 2005 when 2 million people died from AIDS-related causes.

Countries around the world are focusing on the 90-90-90 targets of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV and AIDS. Their goal is that by 2020, 90 percent of people living with HIV will be diagnosed, on treatment, and virally suppressed.

Just as important are efforts like Rob’s to prevent more people from contracting AIDS.

Almighty Deliverer, You are our strong refuge. Reach out with your unconditional love to be a refuge and source of hope for HIV-positive men, women, and children around the world.
