Stop Complaining, Start Celebrating
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
It happens to all of us at some point. Maybe things aren't going our way. Maybe we find that what we expected isn't what has come to pass. Maybe we're just caught in the humdrum of daily life. It's in those instances that we often begin to complain.
Complaining about what we have, where we are, or what circumstances we're in is never the way to experience more out of life. Instead, we need to simply do one thing. Stop complaining and start celebrating!
Whatever circumstance you are in, you have something to celebrate. Are you focusing your energy on complaining? Or have you realized the blessings in your life and begun celebrating those?
Today, simply thank God in a prayer. Don't ask Him for anything or bring Him your requests. Simply thank Him for your life, what you have, and where He wants to take you.
Get out a piece of paper. For a few minutes, think about five things in your life that you are thankful for. Write those things down on a piece of paper. And the next time you begin to think about complaining, look at that list and thank God again.
