2 Timothy 4:16-17
At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength.
There are times, throughout our lives, when we feel isolated. We go through seasons when we feel as if no one truly understands our position in life and we are completely alone. The times we feel most vulnerable in our isolation are when we are at our weakest point. Maybe your husband is traveling this week and your children have the flu and you feel completely alone. Or maybe you are a single mom and the weight of the bills, home maintenance, lawn work, is beginning to be too much to bear. Maybe you are physically sick, going from doctor's office to doctor's office and no one can seem to determine what is wrong with you and you feel as if you are all alone. No matter what your circumstances are— take heart— you are never alone if God is part of your life. God stands by us and fills in the gaps in our life. Whether we “feel” Him or not, He is there.
God will give you strength when you do not have any left. God will hold you up when you feel as if you want to collapse. God will stand by your side, when you feel isolated and alone. God will never leave you.
Father, Give me eyes to see You, even during the dark and difficult days. Give me faith to believe You at Your word and not to doubt that You are standing beside me. I want my faith to be so strong in You. God, I love You and trust in You. Thank You for Your patience with me and Your never ending grace.
