Start Your Day Over

Having a bad day? Start your day over with prayer.

Because he himself was tested by what he suffered, he is able to help those who are being tested. Hebrews 2:18, NRSV

I’m having a really bad day. Nothing has worked out the way I wanted it to. If I could go back to bed, wake up again and start over, I would. It’s worse sometimes when I have such high expectations for success. But Jesus knows all about bad days too. In fact, He knows everything about them—the disappointments as well as the joys, the pain as well as the pleasure. He has experienced everyone’s bad days!

Tempted? Hurting? Aching with loss? Riddled with guilt? Toxic with sin? Whatever it is that we suffer, Jesus knows. He is acquainted with pain; He personally felt not only my sins but also those of the whole world. He carried them to the cross. There is nothing hard, painful or evil that He doesn’t understand. Christ is compassionate. He identifies with struggles because He felt them all.

FAITH STEP: Start your day over. Go back to bed if you have to. Then begin it with prayer.
