Description

Each morning we see how God is faithful. He keeps his promises, even when we break our promises to him.

I love playing with an Etch A Sketch. You turn the knobs this way and that and create an awesome piece of art. If you get bored with it or make a mistake, you just shake it to erase it. The aluminum powder cleans the screen and you can start over.

Maybe you’ve played with a Magna Doodle. You draw with the pencil that’s attached and, when you want to start over, you just slide the little handle across the screen and—voilà—good as new.

The author of Lamentations knew how awesome a clean screen is: “The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: the Lord’s mercy. We were not completely wiped out. His compassion is never limited. It is new every morning. His faithfulness is great” (Lamentations 3:21-23).

God easily could have wiped us out because of sin. Instead, he chooses not to punish us, but his mercy wipes us clean. Each morning we see how God is faithful. He keeps his promises, even when we break our promises to him.

Each day is a new day for you, a new day to say, “Thank you, Jesus, for forgiving my sins. Thank you for making it so that God isn’t angry at me, but loves me.”
