;

Standing Up, Standing Out

Description

Before you even talk about your Jesus-story, show it with your behavior. The sermons you live are just as significant as the ones you speak.

Matthew 5:15 (NIV®)

“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

It seems easier to travel around the world to talk about Jesus than to go to work and own your faith with people you see every day. You think, “I can’t tell them my Jesus-story because they know what I’m really like.” But that’s precisely the reason why you can. I think of this assignment in three simple words: Serving is what you do. Support is standing with someone when they’re going through a tough season. And sharing is what you say. Before you even talk about your Jesus-story, show it with your behavior. The sermons you live are just as significant as the ones you speak.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a Jesus-story. Give me discernment into the lives of the people around me and boldness to speak for You. Holy Spirit, guide my words and actions as I seek to live and speak my Jesus-story today. In His name I ask these things, amen.
