Dayana, 5, a sponsored child, sits at a restaurant in Cocibolca, Nicaragua.

Dayana was thrilled to meet the manager of a Family Christian store where she was chosen by a sponsor.

Dayana’s father, Miguel, works on a Costa Rican sugarcane plantation for 2 to 3 months at a time. “Sometimes it’s not enough to buy even food for a day ... It’s hard for me that I cannot provide enough for them,” Miguel says.

Art is Dayana's favorite subject in school. She also likes to play with dolls and teddy bears.

Sponsorship helps support Dayana by providing school supplies. “I just hope that she can get an education, because I know it’s important,” Miguel says. “I just would like to support her. I really hope she can make it.”
