Source of Peace
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Fear has a way of working itself into our lives as moms. We can be fearful of so many things concerning our children. We fear that our children may get sick, that they might not progress at the same rate as other children progress, that they will not be liked by their peers in school, that we will not be a good mom, and that we will not be able to provide financially for our children. These fears are real, and they press down on us as moms to a place of being paralyzed at times.
Can you control whether or not your child gets sick? No.
Can you control or manipulate how quickly your child progresses in life? No.
Can you control whether or not your child is accepted by her friends? No.
Do you have control of the ups and downs of our world’s economy and how it affects your finances? No.
What is a mom to do? A mom can place her trust in the one person who is trustworthy and faithful… Jesus. When we place our trust in Jesus, He will give us peace. Through God’s amazing word, God will give you peace even during stressful and unsure times. Even during uncertain times with health, friends and finances, God is still God, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6) God will give you a peace that goes beyond understanding. (Philippians 4:7) Look to Jesus, not your circumstances. In Jesus, you will find peace.
Father, You are the God of peace. You are my redeemer, my Lord and my Savior. God, thank you for Your son Jesus, and that through Him, I can have peace. I pray Lord, that I will take my worries and concerns as a mom to You each day and trust in You concerning my children.
