Song in My Heart
Sing to the Lord a new song, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
From the minute your eyes open in the morning until they close again tonight, make today the day that your heart sings unto God. Before you step out of bed, thank God for this day. Thank God for the birds singing outside your window. As you go about your day, getting ready for work, taking children to school, staying home to clean the house--thank God for every aspect of your day and what is going on in your life. Even if life is throwing you a curve ball right now, you can still choose to sing unto the Lord. If you are going through hard times, then ask God for His protection, His mercy and His love to get you through the day. Through all, thank God that He is Your rock and Your anchor that you can cling to during the storm.
Thanking God and having a heart of praise for Him is one aspect of our Christian life that we sometimes forget. But, it is a necessity. We all need to give praise to God on a daily basis. When we remember to praise God, we are also reminding ourselves that WE are not God. We are not in control, but there is One who is in control and One who is holy. But, we must remind ourselves of this fact, tending to get caught up in our own world and believing the lie that the world revolves around us. So, to safeguard yourself from that trap, sing your praises to God and acknowledge to yourself that God is holy and worthy of your praise.
I will sing praises to You all day, whether my day is good or bad. I will keep my eyes on You and look to You O God, to deliver me from my circumstances. Father, I give You this day and all that it brings. I praise You for all the many blessings in my life and I also praise You for the hard times, because in those times my loves grows deeper for You as You faithfully carry me to the other side.
