Snug with No Bug

Betty Sande tucks her two-year-old daughter Melvin in for the night under an insecticide-treated bed net.

Malaria used to plague Betty’s family, but no more.

About half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria. And every two minutes, a child younger than 5 dies from the disease. World Vision protects communities from malaria through distribution of insecticide-treated bed nets. Widespread distribution of nets is a major contributing factor to a 30 percent global decline in malaria cases since 2000. If we stay vigilant, the trend will continue.

Please pray for people at risk of malaria, that they may benefit from prevention and treatment:

Holy Spirit, we see Your hand in the work to end malaria. Lift the spirits of all individuals who devote themselves to this effort, and help their work to achieve even greater results. Be with those who are ill from malaria, and help them to make a full recovery.

“LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” —Psalm 30:2 (NIV)
