Sleep in Peace

Description

God understands your fears, your anxieties. So tell Him about them and then rest in Him as you leave your worries with Him.

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safetyPSALM 4:8.

Are you without peace? Apprehensive? Even afraid? God gives you and me promises that bring peace in the midst of panic. But we have to tune our hearts to listen to His voice—as the psalmist advised: “Great peace have they who love your law” (Psalm 119:165).

One of the first verses I memorized was stored away in my mind because I’m such a worrier: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7). Prayerful focus on God and His promises has brought me peace when I’ve been worried.

God understands your fears, your anxieties. So tell Him about them and then rest in Him as you leave your worries with Him.
