Simeon in the Temple - The Baby Is Salvation

When we understand that salvation is a Person, Christianity no longer seems complicated.

Salvation is a Person. It does not matter if God the Son is in Heaven, or on the cross or a babe in arms, wherever he is and whenever the time, he is salvation. Simeon a righteous Jew met Mary and Joseph in the temple with the baby Jesus, and he exclaimed in prayer to God the Father:

"Now Lord, you can let your bond-servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel." (Luke 2:29-32)

Salvation is not doctrinal information or belonging to the right church; salvation is the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. We can have far more confidence in a Person than a doctrinal system or in a church. When we understand that salvation is a Person, then Christianity is no longer as complicated as it may seem. It boils down to, do we trust this Person or not? When salvation is a Person, then our salvation becomes personal and not a business transaction.
