Shut Up By Sin

00:00

Description

The bad news is that being a sinner is only sad if we did not have a Savior. Since we have a Savior, the bad news should not make us sad at all.

We all pick and choose what rules we want to obey. It is part of the human condition to ignore the difficult and to grab the easy. Certainly we can jump over a 6-inch high jump but a 15-foot obstacle will let us know that we are not Olympic track stars. We like our 6-inch obstacles. But the Bible continually reminds us that we realistically don't measure up.

22 But the Scripture has shut up all men under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe—(Gal 3:22).

God did us a favor. God provided a Savior through faith and so we shouldn't be discouraged by our inability, but we should be encouraged by our Savior's ability to justify us and deliver us from sin. The bad news being a sinner is only sad if we did not have a Savior. Since we have a Savior, the bad news should not make us sad at all.
