Seek God and Discover Your Purpose
"So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat? Or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear’? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Mathew 6: 31-33
To discover our purpose, we must intentionally seek God. However, the necessities of life often distract us from focusing on Him. Our jobs, daily responsibilities, financial obligations, etc… can all play a role in shifting our focus away from the things of God. God recognizes that these are important facets of life. But the key to discovering purpose is to seek Him first.
Seeking God is a pursuit that is both personal and collective. Personally, we must spend time in prayer, read His Word, and develop our relationship with Him. Collectively, we are called to gather with other believers regularly. The one thing God established on earth was the Church. It is through a committed connection to the local church that you build community with other believers and can make the most of your purpose!
Are you passionately pursuing a personal relationship with Christ? Are you connected to a community through the local church?
Pray that God reveals himself so that you can grow in your everyday walk with Christ. And pray for God to lead you to an area/ministry in the local church where you can serve and connect with others.
Inevitably, there will always be things in life that we “could” worry about. However, God is bigger than any situation-any problem-or any concern that we are faced with. This week, commit to memorizing Mathew 6: 31-33, and putting Him first in our everyday lives.
