Quieting your heart and listening to the Lord is the quickest way to peace & internal harmony!

"I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search." Psalm 77:6, NKJV

There is nothing better than time to think, ponder and meditate – whether you're facing difficult times or just living everyday life. To quiet your heart and listen to the Lord is the quickest way to peace and internal harmony! To "meditate within my heart" and allow "my spirit to make diligent search" is sort of like sitting at your "God station" – turning on your spiritual radar, putting on spiritual headphones and picking up on God's signals.

On a family trip a number of years ago, I was able to put this verse into practice. We rented bicycles and cruised around Old Montreal on a hot, sunny, breezy, blue sky day. I popped in my iPod, pedaled and spent time meditating with my heart on numerous things while my spirit was making a diligent search, endeavoring to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.

It was my favorite day of our trip primarily because the scenery in front of my eyes, the music in my ears and the miles of trails gave my mind and heart time to simmer down – time to meditate and search! The result? I picked up on some of God's signals! He helped me to see some things in a new light and He put several creative ideas in my heart. By the end of the 30 mile trip…my legs were rubber, but my mind and heart were at peace, energized and refueled.

How about you? Have you taken any time lately to hook up to God's radar by allowing your heart some time to meditate and your spirit some time to search for God's signals?

Say This: "Father, I ask You to help me tap into Your radar. Today, help my heart to meditate and my spirit to search in such a way that I pick up Your signals. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
