Two women stir porridge to serve to students at Chikumbuso Community School, Lusaka, Zambia.
The school opened with just a few children and now educates nearly 450 children. In addition to receiving a quality education at no cost, students eat a daily nutritious meal of nshima, cassava or maize meal, and green vegetables. In 2013, the Chikumbuso support organization served more than 56,000 meals.
The organization not only provides free education for children, but also job training, micro enterprise opportunities, youth life-skills training, and outreach to the elderly.
