School Cheer

Children at Ilkimati Primary School in Kenya sing a song that encourages parents to send their children to school.

“Don’t keep them at home. Send them to school so that they can learn and succeed in life,” the song says.

Despite all the work being done globally to ensure that children are educated, 67 million children who should be in primary school don’t attend. Out-of-school children, including those with disabilities, girls in some cultures, and children who live and work on the streets, are particularly vulnerable to exploitation, violence and discrimination.
