Revelation 3

Description

A tour of Revelation 3 with Ken Boa.

There are four primary approaches to the interpretation of the Apocalypse:  (1) The symbolic or idealist view argues that this is not a prophetic book, but a symbolic portrait of the cosmic conflict of the spiritual forces of good and evil.  (2) The preterist view (from the Latin word for “past”) holds that Revelation symbolically refers to events that took place in the first century Roman Empire.  (3) The historicist view interprets Revelation as an allegorical overview of the history of Christendom from its inception to the second advent.  (4) The futurist view sees the first-century Roman persecution and emperor worship as a type of a far greater conflict that will take place in the future.  According to this view, Revelation 6-19 portrays a coming seven-year tribulation that will be terminated by the second advent of Christ.
