Renewing Our Minds

Description

We need to cleanse our thoughts. Daily. Repeatedly.

Recently, a TV news anchor used the following words in a five minute span:

Disaster. Crisis. Failure. Scandal. Tragic. Devastation. Danger. Emergency. Threat. Crash…

It is no wonder that people are timid and fearful. If this is what we hear and what we think, our actions and lives will be influenced towards the negative.

Romans 12:2 tells us to “renew our minds." A more clear translation would be “the washing of our brains."

We need to cleanse our thoughts. Daily. Repeatedly. We can’t just stop there. We have to refill it with thoughts that are clean, clear, pure, and holy.

Paul gives us a replacement list in Phillipians 4:

True, Noble, Right, Pure, Lovely, Admirable, Excellent, Praiseworthy…

Which list do you like? Which one would you like to have others see in you?
