Rely on Him

Are you anticipating a blessing? Maybe the blessing is already there. It may come in a different form than you imagined.

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35 NIV)

I almost see this statement of Christ as being humorous. The people were looking for Jesus because they wanted their next miracle fix. Jesus read their heart quickly. He tells them they have missed it! They have been looking for bread, and they had already found it! He is the Bread!

Often in my life, I look for the blessings of God, anticipating that they will be just as I imagined them to be. Sometimes, however, I find out later that God’s blessing was already there, just in a different form than I would have suspected. God has a way of doing things His own way, and it is not always my way!

Many times, the direction I thought was best, turns out to be wrong. I find that had I waited on God, or if I had looked for His blessings, the situation would have turned out correctly from the beginning.

Following Christ is not rocket science. In fact, He tries to make it rather easy. Trust Him completely and He will provide for all our needs. Rely only on Him and we will not have to worry about life. When we place our desires upon Him, He gives us the desires of our heart. Say it however you want, but the point is the same, God wants us to trust in Him.

Oh, if you and I will only do that today! He is worthy of that trust!
