Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit—PSALM 32:1 – 2.
Unconfessed sin in our lives is one of the greatest barriers to happiness. So before we can be truly happy, we must be cleansed of sin. Before we can be cleansed, we must confess our sin. Before we can confess it, we must be convicted of sin.
When Jesus searches your life, what does He find?
Will you say, with the psalmist, “Search me, O God, and know my heart… see if there is any offensive way in me” (Psalm 139:23 – 24)? The good news is that when Jesus searches us, when He finds and convicts us of sin, He doesn’t leave us there. God’s Word also tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). All unrighteousness.
Invite Jesus to search your heart. Confess your sin. Ask for cleansing. Then be prepared to experience real happiness!
