Quick to Believe

Description

Skepticism is held in high esteem in our culture, but with God there's nothing to be skeptical about.

Luke 17:5 (NIV®)

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

Like the earliest disciples, we too should aspire to be people of faith. I hear people say, “I’m not going to be one of those faith people. You almost got me, but no, you’re not going to get me to believe that. I’m not going to get all worked up about my relationship with God.” It’s almost as if skepticism is held in high esteem in our culture—that the truly intellectual among us are unwilling to believe or trust. I have decided that I want to be quick to believe and willing to trust, because Scripture says that without faith, I can’t please God.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I repent for any skepticism I’ve held against Your church. I want my faith and trust in You to increase every day of my life. I want to know You and love You more with each passing day. Lord, increase my faith, that I may become more like You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
