Proud Father

Embrace the grace that God so generously gives to you.

Luke 15:20

And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming.  Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.

Parents are proud of their children—we can’t help it! From the moment our children are born, we are filled with pride and love that we cannot contain for our children.  Sure, we try to not be one of “those” parents, bragging constantly about our children, but deep down inside, we want to shout from the roof tops, “I love my child and they are awesome!”  Even when our children mess up, we still love them and are proud of them.

Our Heavenly Father, feels the same way about us.  He loves us so much, that He moves heaven and earth to have a relationship with us. Even when we mess up, God is still there for us, running towards us with open arms.  How comforting!  How powerful!  Think about it: if we fully believed that God was always on our side, no matter what we do, it would change the way think, act and live.

The story of the Prodigal Son is a beautiful picture of God’s love for us.  Embrace the grace that God so generously gives to you.  Soak in His love and teach your children, from a young age, that God loves them beyond measure!

Father, Thank You for Your love.  Thank You for Your grace and mercy that You give so abundantly.  I pray that I will truly believe and embrace the depths of Your love for me. Father, guide me in teaching Your great love to my children.   I want my child to know beyond a doubt, Your infinite love for them.
